BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR), Real Property Tax Administration (RPTA), Recorder of Deeds. The incumbent examines all documents (legal instruments) received in the Recorder of Deeds via mail and in person or electronically as per the established examination procedures. Duties include: ensuring that documents, such as but not limited to, Deeds, Trusts, Releases, Assignments, Agreements, Easements, Court Actions and Foreclosures have appropriate information needed prior to being recorded and made public record; utilizing land records management systems and other RPTA databases to obtain information related to the examination of legal instruments; determining the amount of fees and taxes to be collected; and preparing error reports for documents missing pertinent information. Performs other related duties as assigned.
