TOPA to Exclude Single-Family Residences

Last month the D.C. Council passed the TOPA Single-Family Home Exemption Amendment Act of 2018 to exclude single-family homes (with certain exceptions) from the scope of TOPA, including those with accessory dwelling units.

DCLTA worked extensively with the Council on behalf of our membership for certain technical provisions to provide clarity in underwriting TOPA in single-family sales.
